Dried Fruit Promotion Group Tackling The Balkans Markets

Dried Fruit Promotion Group (KMTG) developed promotion activities throughout the Balkans in order to find new markets in the framework of its activities all over the world to increase the promotion of seedless raisins, dried figs, dried apricots and pistachios, as Turkey is the world leader in terms of production and export of these products.

Dried Fruit Promotion Group participated in the International Economic Fair Mostar, held from 12 to 16 April 2016 in Bosnia-Herzegovina, to promote Turkish dried fruit.

Mr. Numan Kurtulmuş, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, President of Croatia, Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister of Serbia, Mr. Filip Vujanović, President of Montenegro, Mr. Bakir Izetbegović, Mr. Dragan Ćoviç and Mr. Mladen Ivanić,, members of the Presidential Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina,  Mr. Tarık Sönmez, , Deputy Undersecretary of the Economy Ministry, Mr. Cihad Erginay, Ambassador of Turkey in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Sedat Yıldız, Mostar, Trade Consultant and Mrs Nilüfer Sandallı, Head of the department of Fairs of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey  were among the visitors attending the 9th International Economic Fair Mostar 2016.

Mr. Osman Öz, Chairman of Dried Fruit Promotion Group, noted that there was an enormous interest towards Turkey and Turkish products in the Balkans geography and that they aim to materialize this interest into biggest export figures.    

Mr Öz mentioned that Turkey was exporting dry fruit to Bosnia-Herzegovina for a value of 5.5 million US dollars and added: “Promotion is a long-term endeavor. We will go on carrying out promotion activities in Bosnia-Herzegovina in particular and throughout the Balkans geography in order to increase the consumption of Turkish dried fruit. We, as DFPG, participated in the fair with a stand of 40,5 m2. We made visitors taste Turkish dried fruit and our stand was one of the booths attracting a great deal of attention.
